Temperature App Reviews
This weather app feels like it was thrown together. There is no clear way to add or edit your locations, nor is there an option to change some of the most basic information that is displayed. As it is, you get an hourly forecast that covers the next 24 hours, where every hour is displayed in military time. There is no option to change from military to standard time, nor is there an option to change from the 24 hour hourly forecast to, e.g., a weekly forecast (I like to see the weather by the hour quite often, but sometimes I need to see a five day or weekly forecast.) Moreover, the forecast of "partly cloudy" I received today displayed a sun and clouds until 2AM! This app looks slick, but it needs a lot more attention before Ill use it as my weather app.
Thanks for listening!
Asked for two items both of them are in this update. I have emailed one more request.
No good
Never displays the right temperature and is hard to determine the correct location.
I really dont like having to keep the icon in my dock in order to have the information in the status bar. Also, the small popup window is... Well, too small, and it takes forever to scroll down to get to the other information. However, I like the fact that it shows temperature information by the hour. Hopefully there will be some future updates to make this a great app!
This app does not update, it displays incorrect weather data. I select my zipcode and my city shows and it displays weather for somewhere else…its not 81 in fairview oregon at 5am!
Im looking for a small, compact app to show me the weather at a glance in my menu bar. I used WeatherDock before and it was perfect for my needs, bummed its no longer available. So Ive tried about 3-4 different apps. This one will display the temperature and weather conditions (via an icon) in the menu bar and it looks nice and it does the job well but I have a few issues with it: 1. It shows the temperature in decimal format, like "53.9" instead of just rounding to 54 like other apps will do or allow as a preference. I dont need any more clutter in my menu bar and this is certainly not meaningful information for me. Just give me the option to round to the nearest whole degree. 2. The drop down display that shows the future forecasts is a mess. It combines the days trend projection with future days forecasts. So for example, when I click on the menu bar icon to display the drop down, the next 6-7 items displayed are for today in hour increments. So finding tomorrows forecast is visually a pain in the butt. I hate apps that make me work for what I want, and this one does that. Trend should be a completely separate item to display and not having anything to do with the current forecast. Fix these two items and perhaps Ill leave this running. As it is, Im quitting the app and wont be auto loading it at startup, Ill be looking elsewhere.
This is a wonderful application. I have bought many Apps from this seller, I think this is the best of them. The default view is a per hour, and there is a link to view the per day or back to the main view. The only issue, is the switching link between views is not clear and easy to access as it should be. Howerver, it is still a great app.
The app asks for my location, but it’s not filled in when the app is loaded. And once you quit the app, it disappears from the status bar. As this is one of the main points advertised, I’m really miffed. I can’t access some of the menu items, because the basic control elements are not properly labeled. Voiceover speaks buttons as simply, “button”, and other controls aren’t accessible at all. Sorry I bothered.
This app running on the Menubar (Dock) does NOT update as advertised. I plan to open a support ticket- i took a screen shot of the App which said last update was 5hrs prior. (Not every 15mins as the setting said). To add to the mayhem of the app it did update after I opened it and manually hit refresh- now it says last udated 852AM EDT. which is an hour prior to current time EDT. So they have some bugs in the timezone here.
